A Partnership Committed To Healthcare
A Letter From Microsoft

The healthcare industry is arguably the most rapidly changing and wildly unpredictable in the world — with the exception, perhaps, of the software industry. As Global Industry Manager for Healthcare at Microsoft, I deal with both everyday. My primary focus at Microsoft is to understand our customer’s needs and to maintain constant contact with the more than 500 (and growing) Microsoft Solution Developers in healthcare. This way, I can ensure they are on the cutting-edge by creating the best applications using the latest Microsoft technology available.

Like physician office professionals and the dynamic healthcare market in which they work, Microsoft’s software engineers deal with a fast paced global software industry that’s constantly evolving. These Microsoft experts concentrate their efforts on building software operating platforms, such as Windows 2000 Server, SQL Server and the entire Microsoft BackOffice suite, which are then utilized by other software vendors involved with specific vertical markets like healthcare. Microsoft does not build or sell its own commercial healthcare applications. We prefer to focus instead, on providing enabling technologies to those software vendors whose care competency is in creating healthcare applications.

Millbrook Corporation is one of the seasoned Microsoft Solution Developers in healthcare and was also one of Microsoft’s early partners that provided leadership in developing and supporting Active X for healthcare. Millbrook has been very aggressive in embracing new technologies as they become available. As a leader in the financial and administrative services/physician practice management market in healthcare, Millbrook demonstrates by example how Microsoft and its partners can work together to provide improved efficiency, a wider range of choices, and increased flexibility for customers.

Over the next several years, as we begin to see technologies emerge that change the way healthcare is delivered, Millbrook is well positioned to take advantage of these opportunities and to ultimately make it easier to get information and improve patient/physician communications.
